A charming piece of history, this petite French handbag was made around the turn of the 20th century and is intricately detailed.

Both sides of the handbag are brocade, and capture an afternoon in the French countryside. It is embroidered in muted rose, greens, blues, mustard and yellow all on a ecru background. The bottom and edges are a heavy trim material of 'patina'ed bronze with gold threads still peeking through. The opening of the bag is framed with brass that has a pressed floral design and a kiss-lock closure. The interior is a heavy woven fabric in ecru and has one flat pocket.

Tag inside says: Made in France.

Measures 1" deep and 5.5" wide at its widest, tapers to just over 4" at the top, the chain has a drop of 11" or 6" if doubled (as shown in pictures).

For its age - Good to Excellent vintage condition.
