A small maple bowl with a burned rim and a nice grain pattern. Priced to sell, this bowl only has one flaw which is why it is discounted. Made to look some what rustic. This bowl has a flared lip and a flared base. A slight swirl on the bottom of the inside of the bowl from the sand paper.

The rim is burned using friction. This technique requires the lathe to be set at about 1500 RPM, along with some dry shavings. You hold the shavings in the palm of your hand and hold them against the rim of the bowl while it is spinning. The friction burns the wood, leaving a shinny black surface.

This bowl is signed, dated and wood type specified.

Size: 6 3/4" x 2"

Finished with 100% tung oil it is entirely food safe. To clean off any residue from your salad or other dishes served in this bowl, just wash it with some warm (but not too warm!) water and soap (if necessary) and dry with a soft hand towel immediately.
