This amazing Lomonosov porcelain teacup and saucer is a must-have for serious collectors! The flowing hand painted cobalt blue is in a stylized image of a peackock with large scrolls, flourishes and flower medallion, all embellished in hand painted 22K gold. The pattern is called Tsar Bird. The rim of the cup and the inside lip of the saucer are also trimmed in handpainted gold in a scalloped design. The cup and saucer are both ribbed. Cup is 2-1/2 inches tall and the saucer is 5-3/4 inches in diameter.

Founded in 1744 by Peter the Great's daughter, Empress Elizabeth, Lomonosov Porcelain Factory (formerly the Imperial Porcelain Manufactory of St. Petersburg) is one of the oldest porcelain manufactories in Europe. Creating hand-made and hand-painted porcelain in the traditions set by Russian artists and sculptors such as Kandinsky, J-D. Rachette, and others, the quality, beauty, and craftmanship of Lomonosov Porcelain is unparalleled.

This cup and saucer is in 'like new' condition.
