1970'S SKYWAY UNITED AIRLINES SUITCASE

United Airlines pilot, Captain Jack Conway walked briskly through the LAX terminal with his brown Skyway suitcase in hand. He walked up to the United counter to check his standby status as he was looking to hitch a ride back home to Denver. It was late summer in 1978 and he was exhausted after a busy two days of flying the L.A. and Hawaii route. Even though Jack was putting on his best front, the attendant at the counter could tell he was dragging, "I'm so sorry Captain, this flight's all booked up, there's not even a flip-down seat available. There's another flight to Stapleton in three hours, we'll see if we can get you on that one."

Jack let out a long sigh and resigned himself to another three hours of milling around LAX. Just then he heard a voice from behind him, "The Captain can take my seat Miss." Jack turned and to his surprise, there stood United Airlines President, Richard Ferris. An hour later, Jack was snoozing in First Class just about half-way to his wife and kids in Denver.
