Made of African Sapele - Santos Mahogany and Brazilian Ebony , three very beautiful, dense & durable exotic hardwoods. No stock photos here...the pick shown is the actual pick you will receive. This custom handcrafted guitar pick was finely crafted with the aforementioned exotic woods, it features diagonally laminated strips of Brazilian ebony & Santos mahogany in between two pieces of African sapele for a simple yet sleek & custom look. Concave rough sanded thumb grooves on each side provide a superior grip that enables the guitarist to really explore new highs in guitar playing. This pick measures approx. 1-3/16” or 30 mm long X 1-1/16" or 27 mm wide, it is about 3 mm thick at the thickest part of the pick, but feels & plays thinner due to the thumb grooves on each side, it tapers down to a thickness of about 1 mm at the tip, & was designed with the guitarist in mind for comfort & playability, this pick is treated with a special oil blend, for lasting protection I let the pick soak in the oil to ensure that the pick is deeply penetrated, I then apply a natural bees wax paste & hand rub the pick for a smooth & silky finish, & if you perspire or moisten your finger tips, it will actually improve your grip. It may take a while to get used to playing with a wooden pick, but every guitar player that I know, simply can't live without their hardwood guitar picks. So why not take your guitar playing to new extremes, with the true tones that my handmade Artisan wood picks employ. They also make excellent gifts! Thanks for looking!

SAPELE - Entandrophragma Cylindricum
The tree is Native to Africa, ranging from Sierra Leone to Angola, and eastward through the Congo to Uganda.
The heartwood ranges in color from that of medium to a dark reddish or purplish-brown. The sapwood is whitish or pale yellow, distinct. Fine texture and interlocked grain produces a narrow and uniform stripe pattern on quartered surfaces. It has a cedar-like scent when cut. While Sapele is similar in color to African mahogany, it is more durable than true mahoganies. Its strength is similar to that of oak. Sapele is a beautiful & rich looking exotic wood that is used in many high end applications.

SANTOS MAHOGANY - Myroxylon Balsamum
The tree is native to South America & grows in Southern Mexico through Central America to Argentina.
Description: Rich & reddish brown in color, a gorgeous exotic hardwood that is exceptionally fine grained, very hard & extremely stable.

BRAZILIAN EBONY
The tree is native to Brazil, & grows through-out various parts of South America.
Brazilian Ebony is an exotic hardwood that is highly sought after for its rich chocolate tones and lush dark contrast. Brazilian Ebony offers distinctive veins of dark brown and chocolate tones which contrast harmoniously. Its heartwood is purplish dark maroon to purplish black brown, with some light streaks. It gets lighter in color when sanded or milled and begins to darken when exposed to the sun or air. In addition to its striking beauty this wood is extremely dense & durable known to be one of the hardest available species on the planet.
