Great Birthday Gift Real Framed Rhinoceros Beetle Conservation Quality Display.

The fighting Rhinoceros Beetle Xylotrupes gideon mounted and framed flying. (from Wikipedia) These beetles are used for staging beetle fights, a popular traditional form of entertainment. The beetles are captured and trained by their owners to become stronger and more aggressive. In the fight the beetle that lifts its opponent up by its horns wins. A bug may also win if his oppponent walks away, falls or is overturned (no beetles are harmed durring these contests). Spectators usually place bets on the fights. Insect coaches claim that their activity provides a free pastime while drawing attention upon insects that would otherwise have been ignored or just killed as pests.

All of the real Butterflies and insects used in our framed shadowbox butterfly art have been raised on natural cruelty free tropical farms around the world. These educational farms, aviaries and co-ops provide a real source of income for native people who would otherwise have to sell trees off of their land or raise cattle which are both ecologically disastrous. Tropical insects are important members of these fragile ecosystems. If their natural habitats are allowed to disappear, then they to will vanish forever. Everything possible must be done to preserve them.

Proudly hand making the highest museum quality framed insects one at a time since 1992.
