This is a classic example of post-WWII wedding jewelry. At a time when 10-point and 15-point diamonds were being set into intricate illusion mountings surrounded by diamond chips to give the appearance of a larger stone, THIS diamond stood on its own in a minimalist setting.

The diamond is a brilliant cut that weighs 44 points. It is near colorless (G) and of very high clarity (VS1). When my jeweler was cleaning the ring, he noticed what he thought was a "slight chip" at the girdle to the pavilion facet, but on closer inspection he decided it's a tiny natural imperfection that was cleverly incorporated into the cutting of the stone so as to not lose size. It's impossible to see without magnification - he had to point it out to me as I looked through my jeweler's loupe.

The ring is an easily-resizable 9.75 (British, Irish, Australian size T).

The pictures were taken with a point-and-shoot camera on a macro setting under incandescent light. I've tried to take pictures from different angles that would show how clean and sparkly the diamond is. Hopefully, you can see the white, clear color and clarity. I am positive that you will not be disappointed should you purchase this lovely vintage ring.

*********I love making jewelry and I love selling the pieces I've bought but no longer wear so that other jewelry lovers can enjoy them.*************
