It seems to me that you can never have enough gorgeousness in your life….. and for many years I have covered books, journals, diaries and art journals to make them look pretty, unusual or funky. In fact I remember covering my folders at school and loving it.

So here are the sweetest little lined journals which could have as many uses as your imagination allows….. journaling, secrets, stories, travel diaries or even for writing songs and poems. There are different styles and colours to suit all ages and tastes.

They are small just 14cm x 9cm and certainly small enough to tuck in a bag….. I thought they would be lovely as a gift too, a small token for a birthday, going away present, for a friend, teacher or to use as a hand made gift along with a lovely card or perhaps another present – they also would be a perfect stocking filler.

The little journal has been covered with gorgeous papers glued directly onto the vinyl cover. I decided not to cover the spine or back for both ease of wear and so that the back of the book can still have the black elastic strap attached. The vinyl backing has a lovely feel and will wear well. The inside front cover is also lined with beautiful papers.

I have used a range of papers from a number of scrapbook papers, some have vintage lace, others have new lace and some no lace at all, making them suitable for the man or ‘non lacy’ women who prefer a plainer look. Some have other ephemera such as stamps and tickets, butterflies or birds which I particularly seem to be enjoying at the moment. Many include rubons and lettering.

The pen tones into the colours of the journal, and although the pen says ‘fine point’ it is rather thicker than that. You could substitute a sharpie or similar pen in the elastic holder …. Bit it does need the thicker width of pen. I decided to keep the cost reasonable and keep with the pen as is….. and let you decide.
