Reserved Listing for Jessica - Custom Order
Made with a mix of domestic & exotic hardwoods,Mexican granadillo, curly maple, and Gabon ebony, 3 very beautiful, dense & durable exotic & domestic hardwoods.
This custom guitar pick was meticulously handcrafted with the aforementioned hardwoods, it features diagonally laminated strips of Mexican granadillo & curly maple in between two pieces of Gabon ebony on the outside edges for a simple yet sleek & custom look. Concave rough sanded thumb grooves on each side provide a superior grip that enables the guitarist to really explore new highs in guitar playing. This pick measures approx. 1-1/4” or 31 mm long X just over 1" or 26 mm wide, it is about 2.5 mm thick at the thickest part of the pick, but feels & plays thinner due to the thumb grooves on each side, the pick tapers down to a thickness of about 1 mm at the tip, & was designed with the guitarist in mind for comfort & playability, it is treated with a special oil blend, for lasting protection I let the pick soak in the oil to ensure that the pick is deeply penetrated, I then apply a natural bees wax paste & hand rub the pick for a smooth & silky finish, & if you perspire or moisten your finger tips, it will actually improve your grip. It may take a while to get used to playing with a wooden pick, but every guitar player that I know, simply can't live without their hardwood guitar picks.

GRANADILLO - Platymiscium Yucatanum
The tree is Native to Mexico,& Belize, & it grows through-out various parts of Central America.
Reddish brown to purplish orange dependent upon the source of origin. This gorgeous wood runs the color spectrum from violet to dark red to brown with frequent streaking and pronounced figure. The sapwood is clearly distinct from the heartwood, and is almost white in color. Very hard & heavy, with a tight grain and a fine texture. It weighs much more than Hard maple or Teak. The density of the wood is very high.

CURLY MAPLE - Acer Saccharum
The tree is Native to North America – All along the Northern United States and throughout Canada. Curly maple is really not a species, but actually a description of a figure in the grain. Curly maple occurs most often in soft maples, but is also seen in hard maples. The heartwood is typically a light tan to reddish brown color and, of course, features a pronounced grain pattern. The sapwood is usually light cream colored with a reddish tint. Curly maple is a durable, hard, and dense wood, which carves and turns exceptionally well, and finishes very nicely. Curly maple is also referred to as tiger maple, flame or fiddleback maple.

GABON EBONY - Diospyros Crassiflora
The tree is native to Gabon and grows throughout Southern Nigeria, Cameroon, and Zaire .
Gabon Ebony is said to be "the blackest wood in the world," although it does sometimes contain brown highlights. The wood is quite hard, heavy, and dense, the combination of jet-black appearance and hardness makes it a particular favorite among musical instrument makers , the wood is widely used to make keys for pianos and harpsichords, as well as fingerboards for guitars, violins, cellos, and oboes. Ebony wood has been coveted by wood artisans for literally thousands of years; in fact, some carved pieces have been discovered in Ancient Egyptian tombs. The wood's distinct coloring and ability to polish beautifully have kept it highly sought after through the ages.
