I started my collage by copying a very old photo of a farm couple, then tearing it and rearranging the parts. It is done in sepia tones and hand stamped with part of the William B. Yeats poem, "The Second Coming."

Things fall apart
The center will not hold
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world.

Yeats is thought to have referred to the Russian revolution of his time and the term, "Things Fall Apart" was later taken as the title of a book by Nigerian author, Chinua Achebe.

One thing we can count on is change. Our times are no different, our world much the same as other times and places. This OOAK collage of events considered disastrous by former authors reminds me that our world is NOT falling apart, only changing.

It is framed behind glass. The artwork is 7" x 5", the outside frame measures 12" x 10".
