a bright happy 1960's dress
with a splashy daisy print
in shades of pink and green

this is made from a silky jersey fabric, lightweight, cool, & comfortable. I love this fabric, especially for's so easy to care for, doesn't cling, and is practically wrinkle-free. There are no zippers or buttons -- just slip it over your head. It's mostly straight cut, lightly-fitted with darting at the bust, three-quarter length sleeves, an elegant bateau neckline, and comes with its original matching chartreuse leather belt, fringed on the ends. I've shown it without the belt in the first picture, and I think it looks equally lovely with or without it.

The inside of the belt is stamped "Leonard" but I'm unsure exactly which designer this refers to...the only label I found on the dress was a union tag hidden in the skirt seam. It could be Leonard Arkin or Leonard of Paris...both were making dresses around this time. Leonard Paris makes more sense to me because of the vibrant floral print jersey fabric, something Leonard Paris is known for -- and it has a similar cut and style to many Leonard Paris dresses I've seen. All of the Leonard Arkin dresses I've found have been more of the New Look fitted waist style, and he always used his first and last name on his labels -- this belt is only stamped Leonard in a block font that is identical to other Leonard Paris labels I've seen. The dress itself isn't signed in the print, but Leonard Paris didn't start signing their garments until 1968, and based on the type of union label in the dress, this was made between 1955 and 1963. Still though, since I'm not sure, I'll keep the price quite reasonable, even though Leonard Paris dresses go for hundreds more.

excellent condition -- I don't see any sign of wear or damage, other than one of the hanging straps on the inside is only partially intact. This of course doesn't affect the wearability whatsoever, and I haven't had any problems with it sliding off the hanger. There are no stains, flaws, or bad odors and no fading on the fabric (because of the lighting, in some of the pictures the colors look less vibrant on the skirt...this is not at all how it appears in person -- it was just the afternoon sun playing tricks with my camera -- all of the colors are even with no fading anywhere). Please know that I really don't think the pictures do this dress any looks so much better on a real person, but my little dress form tried her best:) If you like what you see in the pictures, I'm sure you will love it even more in person ❤
