This plein air original painting was done on the island of Maui at the Travaasa Resort in Hana. This is a view looking northeast from the cottage toward the luckiest horses in the world. Loads of beautiful green grass and yet they still feed them hay.

Plein air painting refers to a painting done outside rather than in a studio. The term comes from the French en plein air, meaning 'in the open air'. The Impressionists were particularly interested in the influence of changing light outdoors on color.
