Great for the lake cottage or cabin home....or the home that just wishes for a woods and water view, this hanging basket has been modeled after a fishing creel and is part of a new series of baskets celebrating summer water fun.

Measuring 9 inches across at its fattest point by 6-7 inches deep,
the basin sits 5.5 inches high.
The single upright back handle was created from fabric wrapped coil and is used for hanging. However, the basket will also sit upright on a counter or table.
The wooden lid is a repurposed vintage find and it has not been hinged so it is completely removable.
It features a fish on top.

The colors are rich woodsman green and red, accented with a bit of white.
This basket is truly one of a kind. I doubt that I will ever come across another lid like this.

My baskets are made by the coiling method of basketry. Strips of fabric (both new and recycled) are wrapped around an inner cording as the shape is formed. The inner cording makes these baskets sturdier than other fabric, felted or crocheted items.
Each one is entirely handmade with no machine stitching.
Each one is unique.

Planned baskets in this series are:

Beach Ball
Lobster boil
Treading Water
Low Tide
Gone Fishing
