This vintage Cappi compact is a delight! It has a unique patent pending puff protector. This was made by the August Goertz company in 1923.

The goldtone case is decorated in a repousse design incorporating strands of flowers separated by the repeated word "cappi." One must look at the lid carefully because it has the name Cappi embossed many times among the small flowers-a nice, subtle touch.

Inside, the patent pending mirror at one time slid up to show the rouge compartment and slid back in place for closure. Possibly it could be repaired. The metal cup that held the rouge comes out and goes back in easily; being held in place with a spring action half circle appropriately inscribed Puff Protector.

The bottom that held the powder no longer holds any.

The backside of the compact is inscribed: Cappi Double Compact Powder Flesh Rouge Carnation Cheramy New York.

The compact needs cleaned up and the mirror repaired so it will slide again. Some surface scratching.
