Here's a chance to own a piece of history with your very own factory machinist task lamp. Detroit based factories during the era of this lamp where converted to war time use to build the machines to win World War 2. Own a piece of the Arsenal of Democracy for your office or workshop!

A Factory decommissioned Machinist task lamp from the 1920s-1930s. Very simply designed yet versatile in its simplicity. Ajusco is manufacture marking on this lamp. The lamp is primarily steel but with brass accents on the shade, the wire exit hole and the socket.

This fully articulated task lamp was originally a machine mounted lamp which can be mounted to a wall on a vertical plain or on a desk or any horizontal plain. The original wiring has been replaced with an exact modern version vintage style twisted cloth accent wires, 6 foot in length upon the exit of the lamp to the vintage style plug.

Three movement knuckles are present and can be adjusted to fit the balance of your needs. Each friction knuckle has a nut that can be loosened or tightened as needed. The lamp boasts a darkened metal finish as well as some of the original paint . The lamp as found contained the original socket element with the original paddle style switch which was cleaned and returned to the lamp to retain as much original characteristics as possible.

Sections 1 & 2 both measure 15.5" from knuckle to knuckle. Section 3 measures 4" and the shade is 7" in diameter. Depending on how it's configured this lamp can stand as tall as 44" (nearly 4 feet!) Neither filament bulb nor the chunk of barn wood is included. Similar vintage shop/task/machinist lamps can be found online from $400-$8000. Don't settle for cobbled together versions of these lamps as you find online, this one is complete and original.
