Please note: The engagement and wedding ring set in this listing has been sold. I have used the photos to give you an idea of how your ring will appear. I always send photos of my custom pieces for approval prior to shipping your piece, so you can rest assured that you will love it.

This ring set is perfect for everyday wear. The construction and the diamond are incredibly durable. These also make fabulous engagement rings for those of you looking for a more organic and natural-looking ring at an affordable price.

The rings are environmentally and ethically sound, as the metal is recycled and the stones are conflict-free.

Each of my diamonds is in its raw, natural formation, and is conflict-free. The diamonds in this listing are around 6.25-7.5mm across. These are my Size D diamonds. My current parcel is shown in the final photo- these are the stones available for this ring. The stones here are lovely, blemish-free, and translucent. All are hand-picked for me by my dealer, and are certified conflict-free. I also have gorgeous silver diamonds available in this size range.

Please let me know if you have a preference as far as your stone's appearance goes- otherwise, I will choose the loveliest of the bunch for your ring.
I hand-build an organically shaped four- or five-prong setting for this diamond. I build each prong so that it is specific in size and form to the facet of the diamond it will rest against. I then spend a lot of time hammering each of the prongs around the form of the diamond, during the setting process. After that, I use my rotary tool to give a high-shine polish to each prong. The final step is to put the entire ring into my rock tumbler for a few hours- this polishes and hardens the metal. As I always ensure that my pieces are built to last a lifetime, I sometimes use a tiny bit of jeweler's epoxy under the diamond, to help hold it into place should the prongs somehow become badly damaged. This epoxy is not visible when the piece is worn, but gives added security.

The ring is made of custom-milled 14k rose gold. The engagement ring is made from a 2.5mm x 1.5mm 1/2-round/domed ring wire. The wedding band is made of a rectangular-profile 4mm x 1mm stock. The rings have been polished to a rich, high shine, but can also be given a matte, satin finish if requested. A matching 'his' wedding band can also be made in this same rose gold- please get in touch for a quote. Because these rings are a custom listing, please see my shop announcement for my current lead time.

SHIPPING- PLEASE READ: Is by the quickest method I can use to get your rings to you. This is overnight in the USA, and approximately 3-5 business days outside of Canada and the USA. It includes a tracking number. Please note- this method carries only $100 in insurance. As the rings are moving with a reputable courier and must be signed for on your end, they are very well-protected. However, on the very rare and outside chance that they should become lost or damaged in the mail, I cannot cover the cost unless you have chosen to upgrade to full insurance. If you wish to do so, please get in touch for an estimate on this insurance.

Frequently asked questions about Specimental

I am always open to hearing your design ideas. Please contact me through the shop, or at treloar@telus.net to discuss design possibilities.
If you are unsure of your ring size, the best way to be sized accurately is by visiting two commercial jewelers. Please ensure they size you using their thin sizing tools- not the wide band sizing tools, nor by having you try on rings from their display.

If any questions arise around being properly sized, I am always happy to help- contact me through the shop, or at treloar@telus.net
All of my pieces come ready to present as gifts, in attractive foil stamped jewelry boxes, enclosed in a lovely Chinese faux silk gift bag.

If the person for whom you are purchasing the piece shares your address, please be aware of the following: International export law dictates that the detailed contents of packages, and their value, be clearly marked on the outside of the package. This means that if they see the package before you do, they can easily tell what they are being gifted with.

I am happy to ship to your workplace, a friend, or a relative, when secrecy is necessary. The very best option is to have your package held for you at your closest Fed Ex store- if you are unsure of its location, I'm happy to help.
Our hands are busy objects, and any ring worn on a finger can become accidentally damaged. All rings need regular maintenance. Make sure you are buying your raw diamond ring from a jeweler with the knowledge and experience needed to ensure your stone stays put. Ask them about their warranty and their repair/upkeep policy. Look at how frequently they work with raw diamonds, and assess whether they have the technical experience to create a ring that will last your lifetime.
I stand behind each piece of jewellery I make. If something goes wrong with your ring, at any time- you slam your finger in a drawer and crush the band, you break a prong, you smash and crack your stone- you can count on me to support you with the repair.
My gold is all recycled- the metal plant I purchase it from has been in business for over 100 years. They smelt their metals to the highest environmental standards, to cause the least impact on the environment. They do not deal with newly mined metals, as these metals cause much greater destruction to the environment.

There is no visible difference between recycled metals and newly-mined metals. There is also no difference as far as the karat of the metals go- 18k recycled gold is exactly the same in constitution as 18k newly mined gold. The vast majority of my clients prefer their metals recycled, as environmental impact is of concern when choosing the perfect piece of jewelry.
I can use your heirloom stones in a new design. The stones must be pulled from their settings and checked for stability by a professional jeweler prior to shipping them to me. I cannot recycle your gold. I am not set up to smelt gold in the studio, so am not able to melt down your old gold pieces for you.
My current production times are listed in my shop announcement. If you need something more quickly, please get in touch via the shop, or at treloar@telus.net

Depending upon my work and family schedule, I am happy to accommodate your rush orders. There is no additional charge for a rush order. However, please do get in touch prior to ordering to discuss your deadline with me.
Yes! All of my pieces are completely hand fabricated in the studio by me, from raw materials. I am able to create any of my designs with any stone, in any composition. In short, you can have your ring absolutely any way you like it. Contact me through the shop, or via treloar@telus.net to get the discussion around your perfect piece of jewelry started.
A raw diamond is an exceptionally difficult stone to set properly. Their unique shape means that a custom setting needs to be fabricated for each and every stone. The way in which the setting is closed around the diamond must be done in a very particular fashion.

I began setting these stones into my rings since 2009, when only a small handful of jewelers were working with this type of stone. As the appeal of a raw diamond has exploded, countless numbers of jewelers are now incorporating them into their designs. I have set thousands of raw diamonds into my pieces since then.
