This simple piece is a perfect accent for your business suit, yet has style enough to be your statement piece on a night out. Made of solid sterling silver and genuine agate stone, this piece while seemingly simple on the surface has a complexity all it’s own. Reflect your own complexity with this beautiful solid sterling silver pendant.

{The Creation}
The green stone is set with a solid sterling silver bezel soldered horizontally to a silver tube bail (also solid sterling) for a unique piece. The silver was cut, formed and finished by hand, and the bail is incorporated into the jewelry design for a distinctive look.

Our sterling silver jewelry is NOT Rhodium plated and does not have a lacquer finish on it. I prefer to do my pieces this way to preserve the integrity of the silver.
Since this piece has no added preservatives, there will be some tarnishing. The best way to keep your jewelry tarnish free is to wear it often and when not in use, store in an airtight ziplock bag. If necessary, polish with a soft cloth.
The agate and silver necklace pictured is the one you will receive.

{A Note About Silver Quality}
Silver can be used to denote the color or the actual metal, and often it can be confusing. What kind of silver is this? Is it solid or filled? What do the terms mean? Is it real silver? Hopefully I can clear this up for you.
.999 silver is 99.9% pure and is an incredibly soft material that doesn’t do well in the construction of jewelry. It scratches, dents and scars to easily and doesn’t maintain the detail. In light of this, another metal is usually combined with it to create a stronger alloy that resists damage..
Sterling silver, also known as 925 silver is a silver/copper alloy containing 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper. This makes the metal hard enough to resist scratching and maintain detail when worked into jewelry.
Silver jewelry that is not sterling is made of a silver alloy that is 85% to 90% silver and cannot be legally called sterling. Coin silver is typically 90% silver and dental silver is usually 60-70% silver.
German silver, also known as nickel silver is not silver at all, but is an alloy of nickel, copper and zinc. It has much the same color as silver, but is a lot less expensive since it contains no silver at all.
Solid silver jewelry is completely silver all the way through the piece, which means it can be polished multiple times without running the risk of polishing your silver away. Silver that is noted as filled, electroformed or plate has a much less expensive base metal in the center that a thin layer of silver has been applied over the surface of. This cuts down the cost of the item, but also runs the risk of the silver wearing away and the base metal showing through.
One of the ways commercial jewelers keep silver from tarnishing is to plate it with rhodium. A much cheaper, non-tarnishing metal. I personally do not like rhodium plating, because it puts a much cheaper metal on top of the silver, and then, what's the point of having a silver piece if the silver isn’t even what shows.
Silver does tarnish. The best way to keep it tarnish free is to wear it often. When it isn’t being worn, store in an airtight ziplock bag as oxygen is what tarnishes silver.
