These soda fired pieces are a reflection of trips to the Southwest, and especially to the high country in Colorado where the earth is warm and muted. The iron reds, oranges and yellows return to my recollection over and over and lend themselves to simple useful pottery

Wheel thrown, trimmed and slightly altered white stoneware tea cup. Fired in a soda kiln to 2350+ degrees. Glazed inside with a warm black to deep brown glossy glaze and outside with a warm brick glaze. Colors are radically changed by the soda and direction of heat flow.
