I made this beautiful lamp from a "Chinese Bottle" gourd. Using a dremel and in this case a thumb tack (among other tricks of the trade) I carved the design you see. 3 neutral tones of wood stain are used to paint the lamp. This lamp has major impact and will draw the eyes of all who enter the room where it is found! The translucent beads accent the head of the gourd and give the slightest movement when someone walks by. "She" is 12 inches tall (including a 2in. stem) and sits on a round wooden base that is 7 inches in diameter with a 6 ft cord with switch. In the center of the base is a candelabra sized socket.

Only use LED bulbs with a candelabra base. These bulbs stay cool to the touch and are fire code safe! Using LED lights that are "warm white" will give you that golden glow you want but if you can't find them there are LED night light bulbs that have a "cool" glow, more of a bluish tint , which are less expensive as well. Bulbs are not included due to shipping hazards. I've included a picture of the exact bulb I use- found mine at Lowes!

*This lamp also has the option of becoming a hanging lantern when purchase with one of my lantern cords for $20. Just shoot me a message and let me know that you want me to make this gourd into a lantern after you've purchased both items. I will then drill a hole where the stem is and mount the gourd to a 15ft cord with switch wrapped in jute twine. The base that you see will not be included if you're ordering a lantern.

*Here are some ideas for using your gourd lamp to it's full capacity such as for special events*
~I like to use my gourds as center pieces on my dining table without the base at times. I've placed the gourd on top of candle pedestals and surrounded it with flower arrangements and seasonal decor ~ super gorgeous for Thanksgiving dinner or a feast of any kind!

~Another way to use your gourd without the base and cord is to buy some battery powered tea lights ( I put 3 under the gourd) and use it as a table center piece. You can pick up the tea lights for under $5. You can order all my gourds without the base for $5 less than the sales price. Just let me know before you purchase and I'll adjust the price for you.
