I made these collages with materials found in the recycle bin, experimenting with different abstract color, pattern, and torn edge combinations. I think they look great as a set, showing the various possibilities of a day's rummaging in the recycling, responding to and connecting my findings. As a group they begin to show an abstract 'narrative' depending on how you choose to arrange them.

They each measure 2 1/2 x 3 inches and are adhered securely to bright white paper. (Note, the clothespins in the photos are miniature.) They would look lovely clothes-pinned to a line with your other small artworks, or framed all together, or attached to the fridge with magnets.

My philosophy of simplicity and minimalism, both in my life and my art, is best summed up in the words of French writer Antoine de Saint-Exupery: "Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away." I also recently heard this on a podcast: 'Appreciation and understanding of the limitation is, to me, opportunity.' -author unknown. In other words, I love setting 'rules' for my work and working within them. Trying to do the most with the least is a fun game.
