Vintage book of the paintings and life of famous American folk artist Clementine Hunter who was a slave on Melrose Plantation on the Cane River just outside of Natchitoches Lousiana. She was famous for her primitive paintings and this book contains over 100 color photos of them along with a wonderful biography of her life on the plantation. This is a library discard that was published in 1988 by James L. Wilson. Her primitive paintings are very sought after by collectors and often fetch several thousand dollars at auction house sales.
