I'm not sure if I can attribute the shape of this vase to inspiration from a museum exhibit on mid-century design, or serendipity. I'm leaning toward serendipity. And then there's something about the shape of those abstract leaves that has me slightly obsessed at the moment, in a good way.

The base glaze is a rich black satin matte, with abstract leaves of orange brown surrounding the base. There is a wonderful texture to the leaves—the glaze areas are separated by narrow bands of bare clay, and the glaze pools up at the edges. It is food safe, although you'll probably be filling it with roses rather than soup, won't you?

Measures 6 1/4" hi. x 3 3/4" diam. at base (159 mm x 95 mm), in stock and ready to ship.
