A white linen late 18th century 'mop cap' to protect your hair and give you the true colonial era look. Made of lightweight 100% linen. All ruffle edges are hand hemmed in a 'rolled hem,' the historic period manner of hemming lightweight fabrics. All visible stitching is hand done. The ruffle is wider at the sides of the face and neck and is 'split' in the middle front and middle back, one of the many variations of mop cap styles worn in the late 18th century.

The pretty silk ribbon shown pinned around the cap is NOT included in the sale, but is used to show one historic way to wear this cap. The cap can also be worn without a ribbon.

Cap band (under the ribbon) measures 22" around the cap. Please measure your head before ordering to ensure a good fit.

100% hand made in my smoke-free home.
