You will be delightfully surprised over how this practical, beautiful and perfectly made crochet plarn purse fits into your lifestyle. Since it is made of brown plarn, it is lightweight, comfortable to carry and durable. My original easy-going shoulder strap, flat body and vintage pearl-white button closure pattern is what makes this bag unique. The look is one that lasts as long as the bag, which may be forever.

I kept the basic V-shape top and comfortable shoulder strap that is popular in many of my bag designs. For this purse, I used a one-way, half-double crochet stitch for the body and back and forth, half-double crochet for the V top and strap that creates a nice design and keeps the bag light. The straight lines of this bag and slim profile make it great for packing and storing. But you won't be storing this much -- it will be your go-to take-with piece.

This purse is crocheted using Earth friendly plastic yarn I made from used and cleaned Publix plastic grocery bags which are brown with green specs from logo and lettering on the bag.

It is a great size - 10" wide and 9" high from bottom to middle notch. The one inch wide shoulder strap provides a 19" drop.

To make plarn I cut non biodegradable plastic shopping bags into strips and connect them to make yarn. I create my plarn using a double strand, crosscut construction that ensures strength, and longevity. It took 45 used and cleaned bags to make this gem.

The results are worthwhile. I am reusing/upcycling bags that could languish for centuries in a landfill, or could be recycled - which is a good thing, but requires using more energy. The purse is light weight, strong and a piece you will use for a long time.

I did not line this bag in order to maintain flexibility. Hand wash and air dry.
