More can be read about Pippa Tree Art Nouveau Garlands here:

This is a genuine, original antique gold colored metal Jugendstil (Art Nouveau / Belle Epoque) style German wedding tiara and corsage / boutonniere. It could be from anytime from 1900 to 1950. I love the simplicity and hand-crafted feeling of this particular one, I haven't seen one quite like this before. Really truly lovely. There are delicate little gold colored beads, possibly made from glass, nestled in the flowers.

In German tradition these golden tiaras and corsages were worn on the 50th wedding anniversary. Therefore, these golden ones are rarer than the silver ones which were for the 25th or for the wedding itself. I also think of the golden ones as being particularly auspicious. Of course, a contemporary bride can wear this at her wedding and not have to wait for her 50th anniversary (although wouldn't it be amazing to get it out again in 50 years?)

I'm wondering if the metal is actually nickel, this would explain why it is so pretty, but I don't know for sure.

The leaves are myrtle, long associated with the Greek goddess Aphrodite, love and immortality. It is also the Hebrew symbol of marriage. Garlands of myrtle flowers or leaves have been worn in weddings at least since ancient Roman times. Popular in the medieval era, the Victorians really loved myrtle and also loved to wear garlands of myrtle at their weddings. The Art Nouveau movement embraced the myrtle plant. The Art Nouveau movement was in turn referencing Grecian Goddesses.

This is something truly beautiful and rare, suitable for a rare wedding. It reminds me of something an Elven Princess and her Prince would wear. This is an heirloom to keep and treasure in the family for generations to come.

The diameter of the tiara is approximately 5.5"
The length of the corsage is approximately 2.7"

The piece will be sent by registered mail from Berlin by DHL, with a tracking number.

Please be sure to look at the other Art Nouveau and antique Wedding Tiaras in the shop.
