1920s reproduction of a map of the Amazon river originally sent in 1639 to the president of the Consejo de Indias (Council of the Indias, the most important administrative organ of the Spanish Empire). It was part of a report "Discovery of the river of the Amazons", what we now call the Amazon river.

This vintage map shows the river throughout its length from Ecuador to its mouth in the Atlantic ocean, as seen by the Spaniards during the 17th. century. Full image on thumbnail 2.

Published in Spain, 1920s.

In excellent condition. The back is blank. It was folded in three but the lines will disappear once it is framed.

Size: 22" by 9"

This is a vintage map that was printed in the 1920s, not a new reproduction.
