This is a sterling silver belt buckle I recently acquired from an auction. It is hallmarked with Tiffany & Co. as well as the pattern mark , Director date indicator and order number. From what I have been able to find is the 7009 pattern number was made in 1882 and the bold M was for Edward Moore who was the Director of Tiffany during that time frame, 1873-1891. This info is from Tiffany Silver marks and dates from www.925-1000.com and the only info I could find and not 100% sure how accurate the info is. The Sterling hallmark is distorted and there is a partial hallmark that cant be made out as well. Approx. 2 3/4 inches wide and 2 inches long. Interesting item for the collector and is good condition for its age. RESERVED FOR POORKID
