This little Victorian pin has so much detail! It is barely larger than a dime yet under magnification- it's design and workmanship is apparent. Though it was formerly part of a collection of Spanish damascene jewelry, it appears to be a gold filled piece with white and black Taille d'Epergne technique enamel work, perhaps English or American and from the last half of the nineteenth century. It has an overall appearance of damascene work but is technically different from that process. This pin may have been used as mourning jewelry.

Condition: this little gem is in fairly good shape, there is some wear to the gold layer under magnification. Sometime during it's lifetime, it's pin stem hinge may have been repaired since it appears to have been re-soldered, there is some discoloration to the back of the pin but it works fine now.

As most experienced buyers of vintage and antique items will know, most objects have some signs of wear and use if you look very closely. I am vary careful to photograph and describe any of these condition issues in the listing.

Some items have some imperfections that have always been with the object- they were created or manufactured that way! I try to point these issues out as well.

If you have any questions- just inquire. I will try to clarify any of these issues for you.

Thank you!
I am willing to make special arrangements to ship most items internationally providing that it is legal to do so and that the buyer is willing and able to communicate with me so I can make those arrangements. Though I can understand and can communicate in many languages, I prefer you have a good understanding of English in order to understand the subtleties and details in making these arrangements. Sometimes the procedure is simple but sometimes more complex.

Most importantly, I ask that the buyer be fully aware that shipping and customs procedures may take up to several weeks and agree to that situation before making the purchase and my making the special arrangements.
I will be happy to combine the shipping of multiple purchases when possible. Some larger or more fragile items may have to be shipped separately to insure they arrive in good condition. If you have any questions just contact me for more information.

Thanks!
