RARE vintage salt and pepper mill, made in Denmark in the 70s. The mills were designed by Richard Nissen and the tray was designed by C. Jørgensen. Made of cast iron and beechwood.

Nissen was one of the best danish designers of pepper mills. Many of his designs are often collected right alongside the popular Dansk Quistgaard mills

This set is having the most prestigious grinding mechanism - Peugeot Freres / Lion. Measures: 12.7cm / 5" H (including the metal rings) x 9.6 cm / 3.7" diameter.

The most usual set of this kind, was also produced by Bodum, but they have a regular grinding mechanism (not Peugeout) and they are smaller: 12 cm / 4.7" H (including the metal rings) x 9 cm / 3.5" diameter.

Both mills are in very good condition, with minor signs of usage, fully working and sold together with the original tray. The grinding system is extremely effective.

In the mills there are imprinted stamps. "Made in Denmark" , "Nissen DenmarK" "Designer R. Nissen", "Peugeot freres Lion" and "US Patent 36.338.34". Under the tray "Bodum" , "Design: C. Jørgensen" and "Made in Denmark" are imprinted.
