This item is a rare piece of pictorial bead-work of an eagle with outstretched wings, grasping an arrow with a spray of flowers, possibly stylized roses. It is in pristine condition in it's original frame and has been protected under glass, probably most of its lifetime. Though I have not removed it from its frame to examine it from its back, it appears to me to be a sample of Native American bead-work, possibly of the Tuscarora (Haudenosaunee or Iroquois) tribe though I do not have direct knowledge of this item's provenance or origins except for the few tidbits of information on the back of the frame which do not indicate its maker(s). It is a stunning piece which will appeal to those interested in Americana, Native American artwork of this nature and/or American folk art. It is striking in its simplicity and bold design yet sophisticated in its colors and quality of workmanship.

It's black and guilt frame with gilt mat measures 11 1/2" tall X 10" wide. The actual visible bead-work measures 9" tall X 7 1/2" wide.
