Details

These earrings would make an fun holiday gift for someone who looks good with orange.

They're made from LEGO® parts, typically bricks and plates, and silver plated ear wires. They have not been glued together so you can change them around, make them smaller, make them asymmetrical, etc. Because they're not glued, they may come apart during shipment. If they do, just put them back together. The LEGO® part of the earring is about 1 3/8" (3.5 cm) long.

If you'd like me to glue them together before shipment, convo me. This isn't normally recommended because most of the pieces are transparent and you'll be able to see the glue if you look closely. Besides, glue doesn't work really well on this kind of plastic.

These designs were really an accident. My hobby is actually making unique LED lighting, not jewelry. I made some lights out of transparent pieces, and some of the pieces wanted to become earrings. Some of my friends encouraged me to do this but I'm hardly a jeweler, so they're unique but far from perfect.

These ear wires are new. If you see a model wearing these earrings in a picture, the top LEGO® piece and the ear wire have been replaced with new ones after the pictures were taken. The ear wires are silver plated. The pieces are usually new, though used pieces in excellent condition may be upcycled occasionally. It just depends on what pieces are available. This listing is for one pair of earrings. This picture will be very close to the ones you receive but they're all handmade and are all slightly different from each other. Convo me if you want to be sure about any of this.

Please note that there's only a shipping cost on the first pair you buy. If you buy more, the additional earrings ship at no extra cost.

Caution: These earrings are made from small parts. Some or all of the pieces are small enough to be a choking hazard for very young children. Because of this, these earrings should be kept away from children under the age of 3.

Custom: If you are allergic to some kinds of metal, I can make these earrings with silver, gold, or niobium ear wires. They might look a little different and will certainly cost more, but it can be done. I don't have any of these other metals in stock but I'd be glad to make them if anyone is interested. I can also use different colors if you'd like. Most of the colors are opaque, but some are transparent and they all work well together.

Super cheap looking and honestly worried it wont even be able to hold a couple fake flowers. Wish I could return and get the incredible $30 I spent on this crap back, but the owner is rude and unaccommodating and won't let me so maybe I'll give it to a nice homeless person I see on the road and he can use it to drink out of. He may not want it either though tbh.

Buyer wanted it soon, then didn't open the package for two weeks, and was upset that the return policy had expired. Her convo with me was offensive and inappropriate but bless her heart, her sympathy for the homeless is touching.

I love rainbow against a black background, and these earrings are just that! They remind me of things mechanical, but artistically so. Very lightweight on my ears, too. I will truly enjoy wearing these creatively crafted earrings.

Gorgeous. Been looking at these guys for several years and they are just as awesome as I was hoping. Clearly lego, very rainbow, but not too over the top, should be easy to wear in a variety of professional and casual settings

Shipping

Shipping from United States
Ready to ship in
1 - 3 business days
If your Etsy and PayPal address differ, please leave a “message to seller” note during checkout. I receive email from both Etsy and PayPal, so I'll ship the item to whatever address I see first. If your address situation is complicated, convo me. I can ship almost anywhere in the world but convo me for a quote. I am not responsible for any customs fees or packages that become missing or stolen.

International (outside the US) shipments will always be labelled with the correct value of the shipment. You need to be aware of your country's taxes, customs/import fees or tariffs that may be assessed on your purchase. You may be responsible in paying fees and customs duties when your order arrives to your destination. I am not responsible for such fees. If you want insurance, it will be extra and I will need to get a quote.

For 3D printed objects: I'm using USPS without tracking numbers, convo me if you want something else. These items are fairly impact resistant and I've never heard of one that was damaged in shipment.

For lights: I can ship via USPS, UPS or FedEx. I'll provide tracking numbers and will require signatures on anything over $100. Convo me if you have a preference. I will ship within 5 days. This varies based on what you buy and what else is happening in my hectic life, so I'm saying 5 days just to be safe. Lights that plug into an electrical outlet use a US-style plug. In almost all cases, a simple adapter will be okay because the power supplies that I use almost always accept "universal" input. Convo me if you're not sure about compatibility.

For earrings: I'm using USPS without tracking numbers, convo me if you want something else. Earrings are packed in a ziploc bag which is put in cardboard box with clean but reused kraft paper for padding. This seems to be the best compromise of strong, cheap, and recyclable or reusable. There is no additional shipping charge if you buy multiple pairs of earrings because if only costs a few cents for me to add additional earrings to a box.

I may have to make the item, I may be out of packing material, the night light made of LEGO® bricks needs to be glued together in several steps, etc. I really want to ship things instantly but sometimes it takes 2 or 3 days.

Returns & exchanges

I want you to be fully satisfied with your purchase. If you are not satisfied, please return your purchase within one week of receipt.

3D printed items: If the item arrives broken, please send me a picture on the day you receive it. Items are generally impact resistant but not unbreakable. I try to provide reasonably accurate measurements on the size of an object so that you'll know what you're getting before you buy it.

Lights: I personally test all lights before shipment and they leave here in working order. Customer is responsible for packing the returned item safely and paying for the return shipment. You’ll want to get a tracking number and ask for a signature so nothing gets lost.

Earrings: LEGO® pieces are usually not glued together. This enables you to customize them. If they come apart during shipment, just put them back together. Please do not wear the earrings if you plan on returning them. Customer is responsible for packing the returned item safely and paying for the return shipment. You’ll want to get a tracking number and ask for a signature so nothing gets lost.

Additional policies

Pictures of items are just approximations but I’ll try to use pictures which are as accurate as possible. LED colors are not always recorded accurately by digital cameras and your monitor settings can change things as well. Unless otherwise stated, I use white LEDs, or deep blue LEDs with a remote phosphor material. In any case, by default my lights produce white light at 2700-3000K and this is frequently called “warm white”. Color LEDs generally produce color light with a narrow bandwidth. This makes the colors rich and intense, but LED colors tend to display incorrectly in color photographs and are likely to look much better in real life.

Most 3D printed items are made from PLA, a plastic derived from plant starch. It will soften at relatively low temperatures and is not dishwasher safe. For details on PLA or 3D printed items, convo me or refer to your favorite search engine.

The primary material used to make the lights is recyclable aluminum. I design the shapes myself using CAD software and then let a CNC machine do the actual cutting. It's better looking and cleaner that way. A minimal amount of solder containing lead may be used in LED light fixtures where wires are hand soldered. For those in Europe, this small amount of solder is not RoHS compliant unless we make other arrangements. All LED luminaires, lights, and sculptures are meant to be used in dry locations only. These lights are designed to work with 110 volt 60hz, AC current as found in the United States. In many cases, the AC adapter can support 220 volts but please ask if you have any questions.
