I love sari silk... my friends say I play with it... and I guess I do!! It's such fun to use.

This is a soft fuzzy mix of different silks like chiffon and yoriyu...

*Price is for 1skein* 84 grams

(always happy to combine items for shipping - any excess shipping paid will be refunded)

There is approximately 84 grams, and usually about 45 yards of recycled sari silk ribbon in each skein - weight and length does vary slightly from skein to skein.

Most of the remnant pieces of silk have been sewn end to end - sometimes you might find they have been tied together instead... there are sometimes loose bits as well ... the lengths between joins are random, but often seem to average around 1 yard... sometimes I have found joins about 6 inches apart - others almost 2yards.
the width of the silk also varies between about 1/2 inch and 2 inches

Beautiful soft shades and textures

Soft, scrappy, raggy, earthy, raw pieces of silk - beautiful!!!
For me unwinding each skein is exciting - like finding hidden treasures...

I use a lot of sari silk in my creations...
I have scarves, wraps and necklaces and cuffs in my shop made from recycled sari silk. It is my favourite material... there is nothing else quite like it, and no end to the variety of uses for these remnant pieces of silk - only limited by your imagination!!

People are often concerned about caring for their silk piece - but I find the silk is actually quite robust - more so than what you might think.
It can easily be hand washed in cool water with gentle detergent, and simply lay flat to air dry.
The silk may crinkle a little more when washed, and become softer and raggier with wear - but I think that just adds to the natural beauty and random ragged nature of the silk. The scarf in this listing has been washed after being created...

Please contact me if you have any questions at all... and have a look at my shop to find more ideas on what to do with this silk.

Thankyou so much for visiting.
