A wonderful 1910s Edwardian day dress. This sensible wool dress would have been perfect for day to day activities, and going to town for groceries! It is surprising how the style drapes and flatters, as one would never guess when it is one a hanger. It is a piece that clearly belonged to a woman of the middle class, but the wool is an excellent quality - much better than we see today. The bodice is lined with cotton, and the selvage is taped. It features a slightly high waist, and cleverly hidden closures with decorative buttons. Small buttons run diagonally across the surplice neckline, and trim the pockets. Three larger buttons decorate the center placket. The fitted sleeves close with snaps, which are covered with buttons. The back has a neat gather than falls gracefully. A wonderful piece of sensible daywear for the reenactor or collector.

As with all older pieces, I have many more photos, including close ups, which are happily provided upon request.

Shoulders: 14"
Bust: 40"
Waist: 32.5"
Hips: 42"
Length: 51"

Condition: Very Good
I believe that a few of the larger buttons on the center placket are missing, but the remaining buttons are evenly spaced, so they may have been moved in the past to accommodate that. There is one small snag to the wool at the neckline. I find no other issues to note. The garment is sturdy and wearable!
