A selection of hand dyed fibres to play and experiment with. These are the same fibres i use in my wet feltmaking to create texture and interest to the surface. Each pack contains a different selection of wool locks and silk fibres, all packs contain 2 silk carrier rods. I bought the wool locks from Cumbrian farmers in the form of a fleece. I hand washed the fleece and then hand dyed the locks from the fleece. A very satisfying process.

Suggestions of how to use:

Locks:

Add locks as a fringe or a tassel with loose ends.

Felt full length of the locks into the surface to create depth and interesting texture.

Silk:

Add small strands of silk fibres to wet surface and felt. These attach and shrink with the felt and become crinkly and shiny when dry. Adds depth to the surface.

Carrier Rods:

The carrier rods can be soaked before applying to wet out wool before felting.
They can be split into layers and felted to the surface.
They can be teased out to reveal a lovely diamond fibre pattern either as a complete rod or after splitting into layers.

Approx weight is min of 10g
The pictures show the front and the back of the pack.
I try very hard to capture the true colours on camera, however please be aware that differing screens may effect colour reproduction.
Packed in a cello presentation bag.
