This version of the Spartus 35 camera was produced by the Herold Manufacturing Company of Chicago, Illinois, circa 1954. Textured black Bakelite body with a gray plastic top and metal and glass mechanisms and details. One of the things I love about this camera is that on the back of the body it says 'Top' with a little arrow, like you didn't know. Cute! A lot of heft to this little guy. He feels good in the hand and is fun to use!

A sliding plate adjusts between 4 apertures. Distance based focusing array.

Cosmetically, the camera shows gentle wear. Faceplate has some silver loss on the surface, and the body has general light scuffs and fine marks. Worse, there is a chip out of the side on the back plate. The chip is not visible from the front, but it does compromise the light tightness of the body. For that reason, I am selling the camera as is, although this could be taped up if you wanted to use the camera. Shutter appears to work well.

Takes 35mm film. Shipping is for priority with insurance. Please convo me if you are interested in first class.
