This is a cab cut from A Piece of Apple green WILLIAMSITE AKA Pennsylvania Jade that I collected a couple years ago from an abandoned quarry that is not accessible to the general public. I decided to cut cabs and let people make their own pieces or have me do custom work from this very rare material this cab is 39.1 carats and 31.2mm x 21.2 mm which makes it usable for almost any piece of jewelry. I tried to give pictures in the shade and the sun plus up close so you could see the translucency of the piece. It looks like apple green wax.

I have made several piece with this material and I hope you will search the link below to look at all of them..

PA JADE Williamsite Antigorite has several varieties one rare one called Williamsite. One source is the Line Pits - a mine of the Pennsylvania and Maryland borders. The main mine is no longer in existence and all those loose rocks were crushed up to use in road beds. I have researched another source and was even lucky enough to find the RAREST APPLE GREEN variety which I only use in my best designs. The Williamsite formed on the walls around tubes of chromite which had been mined prior to World War II. Williamsite is oil-green with black crystals of chromite or magnetite often included. Somewhat resembling fine jade, which is why its referred to as PA Jade or precious serpentine. we cut it into cabochons after selecting only the finest rough. It is found mainly in Maryland and Pennsylvania. They used this material to make the yellow paint used during Victorian times at a cost then of $12.00 a gallon. Please look at my other listings for more custom pieces

Included in your purchase price is a felt bag (you can request but I do not guarantee a color) to keep your new treasure in. For pendant purchases I also include the choice of either an 18 inch silver plated chain or 30 inches of black waxed cotton cord.
