Armand Marseilles Antique German Bisque Doll Mold Number 1894

This is an antique bisque head doll made by Armand Marseille of Germany in the early 1900's. She was made for the French Market with glossy feather brows, hand painted upper and lower eyelashes, bright blue glass eyes, an open mouth with small teeth and blushed cheeks. Her long brown wig is made of real human hair.

She has a leather jointed body stuffed with sawdust and bisque hands. She is dressed in her original white cotton one piece pantaloons or chemise that is trimmed with lace and has a blue drawstring. She also has her original cream cotton socks and black vinyl shoes.
The back of her head is marked "1894 A M 4 DEP" and she stand 18" tall.

Condition: Her leather body is in very bad condition-severed at the knees and arms and leaking sawdust. It will need to be replaced. I do not believe that her wig or the dome plate are original to the doll and her eyes do not open and close properly. There is a small flea bite chip under her eye in her eyelashes. See close up photos and use the zoom feature for a closer inspection. There are some brown age spots on her cotton pantaloons. The bisque head is in very good condition. There is some rubbing around the dome plate but no chips, cracks or repairs.
