Gorgeous vintage jadite / jadeite / jade green refrigerator box, also called a leftovers dish. It was made by Jeannette Glass in the Depression Era of the 1930s. The flat lid has an inset handle. Both underside of lid and bottom of the dish have matching embossed floral Poinsettia patterns (as shown in last photo). Pieces with the floral pattern are quite scarce and very collectible.

The dish bottom is a darker jadite green and the lid is a lighter shade of jadite. The contrast between the two is absolutely lovely. The way the green glass was melted down along with other glass, accounts for the many variations of what is referred to as "jadite green". The item produced was darker, or lighter, depending on how much green glass was added. Every batch could result in slightly differing colors of jadite.

The lid has one tiny, very shallow flake or shard off the outside edge...you'll probably have to find it with your finger...otherwise no damage or wear. It's bright, shiny, glossy and looks like new.

The bottom has a small area of extremely minor roughness on the inside top edge that I'm sure is from the mold, which is common. It also has tiny shallow flake on the top edge. Again, you'll most likely have to find it by running your finger around the edge rather than see it. The bottom is also perfectly glossy and without wear.

Dimensions: 5" square by 3" high (with lid in place)
