A small mixed media paper sculpture "Oranges from China". A glass of orange blossom tea please - sweet like the leaves have travelled from afar.
Music drifts through a small window, the notes dance in a strip of light which illuminates a linen room. A wink of gold and a nod of orange. The doll, china in another world, timidly sits on the edge of a tea cup creation, shadows all about. She's waiting for the saucer to turn and a dance to begin.....
A small papier mache cup and saucer painted in subtle tones with a gold edging on the saucer and gold leaf and gold acrylic on the inside of the cup. She is also made from papier mache and is wearing a soft pale lilac dress contrasting the yellow of the primrose in her hair. The primrose in her hair is made from enameled metal, decorated with tiny glass beads. The dress is made from a blend of silk and linen. It's a lovely fabric to work with as it gives such defined folds in the dress. Edging and hi lighting the dress is a soft gold acrylic which has been painted onto the dress. Her is made from a cotton which is a lovely faun color and has been piled high and stitched in place.
13cm wide, 15cm tall & 11cm deep.
