These abstract collages are from an ongoing series in which I use colored paper, origami paper, washi tape, and glue to make little minimalist collages that are all about color and shape. In groups, they begin to take on a loose narrative which changes as you change the configuration.

These measure 2.5 x 3.5 inches on heavyweight bristol paper. Despite their small size and two-dimensionality, they retain a sculptural feel. They would look great propped on a bookshelf, clothes-pinned to a line, or framed together. (Note: these clothes-pins are miniature). Or, you can display them in my minimalist oak stands found here:

My philosophy of simplicity and minimalism, both in my life and my art, is best summed up in the words of French writer Antoine de Saint-Exupery: "Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away." I also recently heard this on a podcast: 'Appreciation and understanding of the limitation is, to me, opportunity.' -author unknown. In other words, I love setting 'rules' for my work and working within them. Trying to do the most with the least is a fun game.
