I have seen a few of these Louis Sherry candy tins in my time, but NONE in this kind of exceptional vintage condition!

This 1930's ART DECO beauty measures 8" long x 4 5/8" wide and 2 1/2" high from its bottom to the top of its perfectly-working HINGED LID.

In a marvelous deep pink color, the tin has "Louis Sherry" written in gold script, centered on the top, and this is surrounded by beautiful lithographed purple violets and green leaves. The top edges are also rimmed in green leaves.

There is a gold colored border around the top.

Both sides have a "cameo" in gold with the initials "LS" in gold script and green leaves.

The back long end of this gorgeous vintage lassie is just stunning (see photo 2): Centered is a lithograph of vibrant violets in a green bowl, and this is surrounded by gold decorations. It says "1 lb. Net Weight."

The gold tin bottom is imprinted "Eagle Can Co." - which is evident in photo 5 which shows the pristine interior of the box.

This Art Deco tin is in exceptional vintage condition! There is NO paint loss - it is just glorious, and there are no scratches that I can see (if there are any, they must be teeny tiny). The colors are bright, glorious and vibrant. The hinges for the lid work perfectly, and the inside is whistle clean. The tin closes securely.

It is OH so SHABBY CHIC!

Louis Sherry (1855-1926) was an infamous restaurateur, caterer and confectioner during the Gilded Era. These 1-lb. gift tins were sold on location at his establishment, as well as on transatlantic steamers.

Truly a fantastic vintage item: what a great place to store your treasures and trinkets! Perfect for the vanity, even for makeup and jewelry!

*As an example of the superior quality of materials used in the 1930's as compared to now, this tin has SUBSTANTIAL weight! I just weighed it on a professional scale and it weighs almost 3/4 of a pound; hence the somewhat higher shipping cost.

(wish tin these days had that kind of quality)!
