All my lampwork beads are properly annealed in my Paragon kiln for strength and durability, checked for any defects, and cleaned with a Dremel tool.

Self- Representing Artist - SRA #B-195

This listing is for an artisan made lampwork charm bead or european charm bead that has been cored by hand with sterling silver tubing for a solid sterling silver core and has my hand etched brass bead caps.

The clarity of a mountain lake with plantlife weaving it's way along the banks was the inspiration for this bead. There's nothing I love more than being outdoors near water. :)

The dimensions are 15mm x 12.5mm, rounded with flatter sides.

In the third photo above the bead is photographed beside a dime for easy size reference. The dime is not included in this listing (of course, FDR is just modelling for size comparison). This sterling silver cored bead would be gorgeous on a necklace or as the statement bead on your bracelet.

My bracelet is just a model and not included in your purchase. :)

All the metal on my beads that have metal components are hand fabricated by the artist (me!) and put through a two-part sealing process of my own creation to seal the metal and insure the lasting beauty of your timeless piece of jewelry.

I use Italian, German, and American glass.

DID YOU KNOW?

Facts about metal:

Metal is porous just as your skin is porous. Like your skin, when metal is heated it expands and will accept finishes that, as the metal cools, will become a permanent part of the piece.

If you have ever cooked with Lodgeware or any cast iron cookware you know that you have to condition the metal to prevent rust and corrosion and to make the surface slick like teflon. To condition a pan you have to heat it so that the metal can expand to accept the oil that you apply when it's hot. When the metal cools it retains the oil and this becomes part of the cookware making it easier to clean and preventing rust and corrosion.

CLEANING:

Periodically your fine silver, sterling silver, copper, brass, or gold jewelry may aquire tarnish or patina which is, despite any sealing process, part of the nature of metal.

Keeping your jewelry clean is easy and quick. Simply use an old soft toothbrush and some mild handsoap and clean the piece and then buff with a soft dry clean cloth like an old T-shirt. Viola, no more tarnish! :)
