No need to see if your phone fits into your purse. This Bag IS a Working Telephone!

Right out of the 1970s, is a very Rare, Black Patent Leather (Pleather) pocketbook with a working phone. The front of the bag has the white push button numbers to dial, the black phone cord attached through one of the large silver-tone grommets which embellish the front of the bag in a circular design. The cord is further attached to the phone's handset which doubles and one of the bag's 2 handles. When in use, the receiver can easily be removed from the thick top strap which is secured in place by Velcro (very mod for the time as well).

Inside the bag are the phone's 'guts', jack wire and on/off switch. There is also plenty of room for lipstick, money, mints etc...You will find a deep zipper pocket inside of the bag too. The second strap is a long (48") detachable shoulder strap and it is long enough to wear the bag cross body.

This bag is truly Fab and it works. I have tested it and when it is plugged into a land-line phone jack, you can make and receive calls. The volume of the dial tone is a bit low and you can hear the old 'touch-tone' sound when you push the buttons as you dial. The reception on the receiving end of the phone call is crystal clear but the sound/volume on the bag phone is a bit low too. (I do not see or know how to adjust the volume). It is important to note that I have noticed something small rolling around in the hand set. This does not take away from the phone's functionality or condition of the phone bag. The receiver can be opened to remove this item but I will leave that to the new owner to do.

This phone bag is in Excellent Vintage condition and its very rare to find these bags in working order. But, its even more unusual to find one with the Original Yellow Tag attached to Boot! (see photo #4 for a close up on the front of the original tag). The back of the tag provides the direction for its use.

Okay, finally...Lady Gaga was seen sporting this same Phone Bag (in Red) in NYC back in Oct 2011. See Photo #5 for Lady Gaga making a call with her very own Dallas Handbag's "Phone" Directory Phone-Bag.

Don't wait, this bag/phone is highly sought after and will not last long.

11" (t) to the top of the phone receiver/handle
9 7/8" (w) at the bottom or the widest part of the bag
48" long detachable shoulder strap

You'll go 'Gaga' over this Vintage Find...
