The Homeric Hymn to Apollo acknowledges that Apollo's gift of prophecy first came to him from three bee maidens, usually identified with the Thriae. The Thriae was a trinity of pre-Hellenic Aegean bee goddesses who were slender, beautiful, and had the wings of these amazing insects.

These sticks would be fitting in the hair of a one of the Thriae.

Built upon bamboo, this pair is topped with silver pewter and orbs of compressed shells. From the top of the sticks are ornate bee sigils that shift color with the temperature. Watch the colors change with small changes in the temperature. When touched, beads range from teal and blue (warm) through shades of green, yellow and orange (cooler). Moving from a chilly walk in a garden to a warm seat inside will change their color as well!

The bamboo wood is waterproof and can be used in sopping wet hair (just don't get the topper wet!)

Trappings of the Thriae Bee Color-Changing Hair Sticks have an overall length of 6.5 inches and a usable length of 5 inches.

For orders over $30 (before shipping costs) I'll include a free gift of matching earrings! For information on shipping, international orders, custom orders and other commonly asked questions, please see my Shop Policies!
