“Remembering all the people who made me who I am, remembering all those moments that made me what I am … remembering my grandmother …”

This mixed media piece is set in a little unsoldered copper (repurpose) house stained with the patinas of fire. Residing within it are, a clay tablet of written script, an old old watch face, a tiny old barrel key and a red clay heart, all nesting on top of stained gauze. A wire mesh wrapped round the house keeps the memories from our past safe within us. A beautiful rustic multicolored Picasso Jasper hangs off the bottom.

The odd looking pod just above the house contains the word “Cherish”, reminding us to cherish moments in our lives which may never recur again and people that we love in our lives that come perhaps, only once.

* The necklace is 26 inches in circumference

* The pendant from pod to the end of the bead is approximately 4½ inches, with the fibers extending another 3 inches

* Other materials : rustic leather, antique brass chains and findings, jasper beads, petrified wood bead, dyed silk/rayon, brass wires augmented by fire, black steel wires.
