Highlights
Loofah sponges, also called sponge gourds, are true all-rounders.
The loofah sponge is the dried inside of the loofah plant (also called loofah gourd) and is therefore a purely plant-based product. This loofah plant prefers warm climates, grows primarily in Central and South America, and belongs to the sponge gourd family.
They are used as shower and bath sponges, for gentle massage, or in the household as dish sponges, pet toys, soap dishes...
Thanks to its exfoliating effect, the loofah sponge thoroughly cleanses the skin, massages the connective tissue, and leaves the skin's surface looking fresh and healthy. To use it, gently move the sponge over your body in circular motions.
Overall, the loofah sponge is a great and, above all, extremely sustainable option. The durable loofah sponge can be reused multiple times; it's even machine washable or can be cleaned with vinegar. It's made from 100% vegan natural material and can simply be composted or disposed of in the organic waste bin at the end of its life.
A great, useful natural product.
Cleaning:
Rinse the loofah sponge thoroughly with clean water after each use.
Then hang it up so that it is well ventilated and can dry.
The loofah sponge should be cleaned more thoroughly once a week. To do this, soak it in a vinegar-water mixture (1:2) for 5-10 minutes and then dry it well.
You can also put the natural sponge in the microwave for 30 seconds after rinsing to kill germs.
Loofahs can also be washed in the washing machine at 30 degrees.
