Real Baltic Amber. 3.7 grams which measures 1 1/2” x 3/4” x 3/8” approx in this parcel of Amber, you get the exact same piece in the picture. This is Lot #40 . This piece is very smooth. They do get damaged in the ocean too by rolling around, but this has been mostly polished. This piece is very clear, hardly no debris, and I see one bug. Lovely as a Pendant.

According to Lithuanian folklore, Perkunas, God of Thunder, got angry when sea Goddess Jurate and drop-dead gorgeous fisherman Kastytit got it together. Whipping the sea up into a frenzy, Perkunas chained Jurate to her underwater amber palace and destroyed it, bringing it down around her. Now, when the Goddess cries, the Sea becomes upset and stormy, washing her Amber Tears and fragments of her destroyed palace on to the beach. That is why Amber is best gathered after a storm.

Thousands of years ago people were fascinated by the extraordinary, inexplicable properties of the golden pebbles found on beaches and in coastal forests. The stone burnt when cast into the fire, exuding a pleasant resinous smell and aromatic smoke, and, when rubbed, attracted various small light items towards itself as if by magic.

The stone interior would often hide small undamaged plants and insects, which must also have found their way inside by magic. That sufficed to arouse the curiosity of primitive man, with admiration & respect for this unusual gem. It is no wonder man started attributing magical powers to Amber.

INFO ON MY AMBER PIECES IN GENERAL:
You can easily drill Amber (there is alot of info on the internet about drilling amber), or wirewrap Amber! The bunch of amber I have is pretty buggy, you might get surprised with a bug or two (if you really need bugs or don't want bugs, email me and I can put together a listing with pieces where I easily have found bugs in it or no bugs in it, it is up to you). I have not looked for bugs because I don't see as well as I did before hehe, and it takes time to search with a magnifying glass. So here you go, this is very inexpensive for "REAL" amber. I purchased by the Kilo, so I am passing on savings to you. This is not Fake, it is NOT "PRESSED" amber....I got this directly from Poland. Some pieces are more clear than others, some has fissures, healed cracks, but it all has been somewhat polished. None are broken and there are no sharp spots unless noted above. Check pictures, you can tell very clearly what you are getting, you get what is pictured, EXACTLY.
