FACT AND FICTION:

FACT: Here's a wonderful bit of vintage nautical decor for your beach cottage. It appears to be copper, or heavy metal, clad in copper. Did they cast solid copper for cleats back in the 50's or earlier? It's oxidized and pretty grungie; I like it that way, but it could be polished. This piece would look great mounted as a door stop, or would make a lovely paper weight.
5"Hx4 1/2"W (3" at the base)

FICTION: Eleanor came to, adrift in Puget Sound, just off Anderson Island. She had a splitting headache and a lump on her head. Her rowboat was oarless, and the dock cleat was dangling from a rope on the bow. Last thing she remembered was her extreme elation after her rendezvous with Harvey, the mailman.
