The Karoff Floral Quintuplets. Perfume bottles from 1936 with some perfume remaining. Original box. Dionne Quintuplets

In the 1934, five little girls were born to the Dionne family. The first set of quintuplets to survive infancy, they were the darlings of the media. Robert Karoff, a perfumer, created a set of five fragrances with little wooden heads and silk ruffled collars. The doll perfumes were painted with flapper faces and charming expressions. The scents were: Miss Gardenia, Miss Rose, Miss Orchid, Miss Sweet Pea and Miss Chypre.

These little dolls are those originals.

Height of each is 2 5/8".
The heads are in perfect condition with no chips or cracks. There is some minor discoloration.
The bottles are in perfect condition.
The silk ruffs are faded, but I believe that adds to its authenticity. No one has tried to redress these little dears.
The box has a tiny bit of corner wear (see pictures). Miss Rose & Miss Orchid's names have been slightly obscured from wear.
The box is 5 3/4" x 2"
The top lid is missing.

Some perfume remains and actually is pleasantly fragrant.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if a perfumer would recreate and reissue these little fragrances?

(The pose in the first picture makes me think of Charlie's Angels. Can you see it?)

* In Dumbo the song, "Look Out for Mr. Stork," mentioned the Dionne Quintuplets:

"Look out for Mr. Stork
He's got you on his list
And when he comes around
It's useless to resist
Remember those quintuplets and the woman in the shoe
Maybe he's got his eye on you!"
