The images in this postcards album were captured somewhere in the beginning of the 20th century, judging by the cars and electric tramway, with the horse-driven carriages still present in the streets. The first electric tram appeared on the streets of Madrid in 1892. The editor of the postcards album is the printing house Hauser Y Menet, established in Madrid in 1890, which was considered the best Spanish enterprise for printing in the "fototipia" procedure. This procedure was very much utilized until the World War I, hence the approximate dating of this postcards album.

Madrid’s grand architecture is present in those images, together with flashes of everyday life. From thePuerta del Sol to the Grand Via, from the Passeo de la Castellana to theCalle del Alcalá, passing over the Puente de Toledo and taking some moments to enjoy the beauty of Plaza de Castelar or the Fuente de la Cibeles.

Originally the album had 20 postcards. One is missing - it was probably sent, from Madrid, somewhere in the world. The other 19 are there, separated by very thin parchment paper. The postcards are stapled together, but detached from the cover. Yet this is the only flaw of the album, which is in excellent vintage condition.

The dimensions are 15 cm length (5.9 in) and 8.8 cm width (3.5 in).

The shipping costs are estimates. I ship internationally, but I need to know the country before listing a shipping price. I have listed "Everywhere Else" with 0.00 only to have the item appear in search on all Etsy locations. I can also combine shipping, if you wish to buy more than one item. If you are interested in this vintage postcards album, please contact me before making the purchase, so I can provide the specific shipping costs for your country. As I have specified in my shop's Policy, shipping taxes perceived by the Romanian Post vary from country to country, and so do duties and restrictions. If you are interested in buying this item, please take a moment to read in detail the Policy of my shop, and then message me so I can inquire for the exact shipping quote for your country.

Also, please be sure to check with your local customs for any extra duties or restrictions that may apply to the purchase of such item (vintage postcards album). I have no way of knowing the duties or restrictions for every country, and so I cannot be held responsible if for any reason the buyer should encounter problems with the package at their customs. I can put the item on Reserve until all those details are known (exact shipping cost and local customs info), so there will be no hurry - what is important is that both seller and buyer know exactly what to expect when purchasing an item, and do all that is necessary so that the item will arrive safely to its new owner.

Please feel free to message me with any questions, I will be glad to answer all. If you wish to see more photos of this vintage postcards album, you can check my blog, prettycharmingthings.wordpress.com .
